Aquarius is named "The Great One" in the Babylonian mythology and represents the god Ea himself. Ea was the ruler of the southernmost quarter of the Sun's path, the "Way of Ea". Aquarius has also been identified as the pourer of the waters that flooded the Earth in the ancient Greek version of the Great Flood myth.

In astrology, the Age of Aquarius is one of the twelve astrological ages. According to astrologers, it is either the next age to come, or else it is the current age. Aquarius traditionally "rules" electricity, computers, democracy, freedom, modernization, rebels and rebellion, mental diseases and astrology.

Aquarius' are forward thinking and self-directed. They are a born revolutionary so no one can tell them how to live their life. Even if they are occasionally criticised for their cheeky attitude, they would prefer to be self-sufficient rather than being a sheep in society who follows everyone else’s lead.

Capricorn is an unlikely looking creature, with the head and forelegs of a goat and the tail of a fish. The capricorn constellation is sometimes identified as Amalthea, the goat that suckled the infant Zeus after his mother Rhea saved him from being devoured by his father Cronos in Greek mythology.

The goat's broken horn was transformed into the cornucopia or horn of plenty. Some ancient sources claim that this derives from the sun "taking nourishment" while in the constellation, in preparation for its climb back northward.

Few people are as practical and ambitious as Capricorns. They are down to earth and matter-of-fact. Caution is their second name and this is due to Saturn, their ruling planet. They are sometimes shy and lack self confidence and self-esteem. But it is hard to meet a Capricorn who is afraid of hard work in order which to achieve what it wants in life. They are ambitious and go for their dreams and usually end up successful. They like money but not if it involves risks. They prefer to know exactly where their money is going. That is the reason they prefer traditional types of savings.

Scorpio

In mythology, this is the scorpion that stung Orion the hunter to death, although accounts differ as to the exact circumstances. Eratosthenes offers two versions. Under his description of Scorpius he says that Orion tried to ravish Artemis, the hunting goddess,

and that she sent the scorpion to sting him, an account that is supported by Aratus. In a Greek fable, it is written that Orion boasted to Artemis and her mother Leto that he would kill every animal on the earth.

Antares:

A red supergiant of 300times of the sun-diameter in 450 light years distance. The greek name means "Rival of Ares" and "Equivalent of Ares" (Antimars) respectively. It is also called Cor Scorpii, "Heart of the scorpio", and is together with Regulus, Aldebaran and Fomalhaut one of the four royal stars of Mesopotamia.

Scorpios are magnetic, elusive and determined. They were born under the eighth sign of the zodiac which is referred to by astrologers as a fixed water sign. This star sign is probably one of the most misunderstood signs of the zodiac. They are emotional beings and they take it to the limits. In fact they need overkill to feel really alive. There are definitely no half measures in your attitude to love. The cool aloofness is just the surface of their complex nature, and is by no means bad. Virgo has been associated with nearly every prominent goddess, including Ishtar, Isis, Cybele, and Athena, as well as with Mary the Mother of Jesus. It may also feature, along with Ursa Major, and Ursa Minor, as part of the source of the myth of Callisto, either as Callisto herself, or as Hera.

The Greeks called the constellation Parthenos. She is usually identified as Dike, goddess of justice, who was daughter of Zeus and Themis; but she is also known as Astraeia, daughter of Astraeus and Eos.

Spica:

A bluish-white star in 260 light years distance. The meaning of the latin name is ear (wheat spike). The arabs called it Azimech, coming from the arab word "Al Simak", "The Defenseless" or unarmed, because it seemed to be unattended from the surrounding stars.

Virgos belong to a group of people known for their perfectionism and highly analytical minds. There is a bit of a joke about how precise and demanding Virgos are but when you think about it, what is wrong with being tidy, organised and clean? In a way, you are misunderstood and your attention to detail, your desire for excellence and hygiene is not as bad as some might think.

Eratosthenes and Hyginus both affirm that the lion was placed in the sky because it is the king of beasts. Mythologically speaking, this is reputed to be the lion of Nemea, slain by Heracles as the first of his 12 labours.

The lion lived in a cave with two mouths, emerging to carry off the local inhabitants, who were becoming scarce.

Zosma:

A bluish-white star in 58 light years distance.

Algieba:

A double star with two golden yellow giants. The name means lion's mane oder lions brow. The stars are in 125 light years distance.

Regulus:

A bluish-white star in 77 light years distance. The name means "Little King". Regulus is also known as Cor Leonis or arab. Kabeleced, Lion's heart.

The Sun is the ruling planet of Leo. Of course the Sun is not really a planet but is the centre of our solar system. Lions shine as brightly as the Golden globe because they reflect the characteristics of the heavenly body that rules this star sign. Cancer the crab, plays a minor role in the Twelve Labors of Hercules. While Hercules was busy fighting the multi-headed monster, Hydra, the goddess Hera, who did not like Hercules, sent the Crab to distract him. Cancer grabbed onto the hero's toe with its claws,

but barely breaking the rhythm of his great battle with Hydra, Hercules crushed the crab with his foot. Hera, grateful for the little crustacean's heroic but pitiful effort, gave it a place in the sky.

Its name is Latin for “twins”, and it is associated with the twins Castor and Pollux in Greek mythology. The myth of Castor and Pollux, collectively known as the Dioscuri. One myth of these twins concerns cattle theft,

and may be connected to early myths that described the Milky Way as a herd of dairy cows. Castor was a famed horseman and warrior who taught Heracles to fence, while Pollux was a champion boxer.

A bluish white star in 52 light years distance. Castor is a sextuple-starsystem.

Pollux:

A orange giant in 33.5 light years distance. Ovid (43 B.C. - 17 A.C.) called him Pugil, “The Fighter” and the arabs called him Rasalgeuse, “The head of the twins”.

Twins are all about intelligence and communication. Geminis have a talent for using their minds and expressing thereselfs fully. As a Gemini, one is a bower bird, mentally, and takes an interest in all sorts of different things. Anything that gets their mind ticking over will grab them. In Greek mythology, Taurus was identified with Zeus, who assumed the form of a magnificent white bull to abduct Europa, a legendary Phoenician princess. The Cretan Bull which fathered the Minotaur was originally calm and sent from Poseidon,

but the king (Minos) whom it was sent to fell out of favour with Poseidon, and so in some versions of the story, Poseidon made the bull angry.

Plejaden:

Is the famous open star-pile in 390 light years distance. One can recognize seven of those stars with the pure eye. All in all there are 250 stars. The greek name means "pigeon".

Aldebaran:

A red giant in 66 light years distance. The arab name means "The Follower", because it seems to follow the Plejads und Hyads. In Mesopotamia it was beside Regulus, Antares and Fomalhaut one of the four royal stars.

To describe the typical Taurus temperament, you would probably use the word practical and purposeful. One word you would not use is impulsive. After the golden ram that rescued Phrixos, taking him to the land of Colchis, Phrixos sacrificed the ram to the gods and hung its skin in a temple, where it was known as the Golden Fleece. It is the fleece of the winged ram Chrysomallos.

It figures in the tale of Jason and his band of Argonauts, who set out on a quest for the fleece in order to place Jason rightfully on the throne of Iolcus in Thessaly.

Hamal:

A yellow giant in 66 light years distance. The arab name means ram, sheep or lamb. Sometimes he is also called Elnath (arabic for "The one who pokes with his horn").

Sheraton:

A white star in 59 light years distance. The arabic name means Sign. It was also used for Arietis, because both stars where near the equinox in 300 - 400 B.C. He is also called Elscheratain (arabic for "The both signs").

Aries is the first sign of the zodiac so it shouldn't come as any surprise then that they are born leaders. They shine brightly, taking the initiative in everything they do and others see that immediately. There are no half-measures for the rams. They are energetic, daring and fighters too. Craving for adventure and travel the world are the things that Aries like. They are pioneers and they have the ability to lead. According to one Greek myth, Pisces represents the fish into which Aphrodite and her son Eros transformed in order to escape the monstrous Typhon; they are tied together with a cord on their tails, to make sure they do not lose one another. In the sky, the two fish of Pisces are represented

swimming in opposite directions, their tails joined by a cord. The Babylonians visualized a pair of fish joined by a cord. The mythological events concerning this constellation are said to have taken place around the Euphrates river.

Al Rischa:

A doubole-star in 140 light years distance. The arab name means bend or rope and cord respectively. It was derived from the babylonian word "riksu".

In the scheme of astrology each of the zodiac signs supposedly indicates the level of evolution beginning with Aries and finishing with the sign of Pisces. There is no doubt that the water signs, Pisces being the final and most mature of them, indicates their spiritually developed character. The ruling symbol of their star sign is the fish and just as the fish lives in the ocean, so is Pisces suffused with feeling and empathy, the emotions that are characterized by water. They truly are a compassionate and unconditionally loving person.
